Summer Activities - Children's Activities
Beaver Creek Children's Museum
Kids and parents alike will love this free museum. Exhibits offer fun and interactive ways to learn interesting facts, using everything from Legos to Tinker Toys, puppets to books, computer games to rain forest adventures. Some of the featured exhibits are:
Professor Quackenbush's Workshop, filled with building- and construction-themed activities
- The Computer Zone
- Banana Jones' Jungle Science Lab, filled with biological and scientific gadgets
- The J.B. Tucker Showman's Theatre, a working theatrical stage filled with costumes and props for the kids
- Special education workshops throughout the summer
The Children's Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from July to the beginning of September and is located next to the Hiking Center in Beaver Creek Village (one escalator down from Starbucks).
Children’s Theater
Treat your kids – and yourselves – to a morning of delightful entertainment. This professional theater troupe performs a repertoire of kid-friendly performances, such as animating children's literature, poetry, fractured fairy tales and folk tales from around the world. All the stories are brought to life in a fast moving, high energy, and engaging way. Shows are performed on the plaza on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 11.00 a.m. throughout the summer.
Want to get in on the fun? Sign your child up to participate in the Children’s Theater Workshops. This four-day program includes instruction in all aspects of performing, from behind-the-scenes production to an actual public performance.
Small World Play School™
Our private daycare center is a great place for your little ones to spend time with kids their own age. Offering licensed childcare for guests aged two months to five years, Small World provides separate programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. High staff-to-child ratios ensure your child is well cared for and enjoying programs created just for them.
- Open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Lunch and snacks provided, although formula and specialty foods for infants are required to be supplied by the parents
- Advance reservations are suggested, and are required for guests aged two months to 15 months
Rodeo Series
This annual event, now located at Chapel Square in Avon, is a must-see for every member of the family. Watch in awe as the talented riders tackle everything from traditional bull riding to barrel racing. There are plenty of chances for you to get in on the action, too. Just sign up to participate in one of the activities, such as Mutton Bustin’ and Burro Racing. There is also a petting zoo, pony rides and delicious authentic BBQ.
The Rodeo is held every Thursday night throughout the summer. A free shuttle for Beaver Creek guests is available at the Covered Bridge.
Vail Adventure Ridge and Gondola
Take a ride up to the top of Vail Mountain and discover a world of fun and adventure for the entire family. Explore the mountain on a mountain bike, challenge another family to a game of bocce or laser tag or take you kids on a Dino dig.
